ARRIVAL OF A MAESTRO
Watch the videos below as Andris Nelsons arrived in Birmingham in September for his first week as CBSO Music Director and with blistering confidence and sheer musical passion he drove the Orchestra straight into a new and exciting era. And we've caught it all on camera!

This video documentary offers a rare opportunity to watch Andris rehearsing, relaxing, meeting and greeting, signing autographs, giving speeches, taking in the sites of his adopted city, studying scores and, of course, conducting the concerts.

Producer/Director Tommy Pearson said: " I've been making a lot of little promotional films with conductors, musicians and soloists this year but none has been so exhilarating to shoot as Andris's first week. Here was a brilliant musician right at the very beginning of a new chapter in his career, working with an orchestra that clearly loved him.......What we have is a fascinating document of that electric first week, a peek inside the life of a young conductor and his orchestra, a unique portrait of musicmaking at the highest level."

"Andris Nelsons is a serious catch for the CBSO."
Anna Picard, The Independent
