At the heart of the CBSO family is the world-class orchestra that hundreds of thousands of people across the globe know and love. But, as an educational charity, great concerts are just the start of our extraordinary programme and every year we have to generate around £9m to make it all happen. We already have invaluable support from hundreds of individual donors, businesses, private foundations and our public funders, for which we are extremely grateful. However, we need more investment to sustain our existing charitable activities and to reach even further – more fantastic performances by our orchestras, choruses and ensembles; more support for gifted young musicians; and even more extensive activity in our schools and communities.
