Michael Janisch is an American bass player who is now based in UK and works tirelessly to tour interesting projects. This tour features a very exciting American tenor and soprano saxophonist Walter Smith III, who is one of the new young voices on the American scene. He is currently a member of the Ambrose Akinmusire Quintet heard at the 2012 London Jazz Festival and has recorded or toured with various exciting bands, notably the Christian Scott Band, the Terence Blanchard Quintet and Jason Moran’s Big Bandwagon. The band also features two members of the Christian Scott Quintet, drummer Jamire Williams and guitarist Matt Stevens. This will be a great gig showing American contemporary jazz at its best.
