HAYDN 200

String quartets: you've heard the rest, now meet the best. Joseph Haydn, "father of the String Quartet" didn't just invent the string quartet as a musical form - he went on to write 69 that are better than anything written for four strings before or since. Both Beethoven and Mozart hailed him as their master - but there's nothing scholarly or dry about these two superb string quartets; one light, one dark, but both written at the peak of Haydn's maturity. A gloriously inspired contribution to the CBSO's Haydn 200 celebrations.

£7.50

From April 1 2009 a £2 fee per transaction will be charged on all bookings by THSH Box Office, except purchases made in person.
